Unit Tracker Log

Max 86, in Matrix forum, made this track log. I thought that it might interest some of you.
ORIGINAL: Max 86
Gentlemen,
Not sure if there is a big demand for this but I have been using this log to track my core units progress. The attached file covers 24 core units over 20 scenarios with room for tracking experience, unit types, awards and heroes. Each page of the file is the same so you can print out as many sheets as you need for tracking all of your core units.
Since the DLCs contain ~14-15 scenarios, it can be used to track your core units thru each of those too. In the heroes row I usually put the benefit (Def+1, Att+2, etc.) and add the hero's name to the Unit ID row at the top of each block. Keeping track of which units have heroes and what benefit they provide is invaluable to someone with my modest playing skills. Plus I'm OCD in nature anyway so I HAVE to track this info.

It would be really nice if hero information were visible in the game, especially the deployment phase (when, as far as I can tell, there is no way to see it). Maybe it could appear when the mouse is hovering over a unit in the roster, and/or if the player clicks on the little hero symbol?

A better "hero view" is on the to-do-list of fixes/upgrades for the game by the devs

Ctrl+click
Alt + Click is still
way too cumbersome when dertermining which unit, of many, to move / attack with. Hero data needs to be on the UI Sidebar during "mouse over." Chris10 almost had it working within his Mod; therefore, it is reasonable that one could guess the Developers will code this in a future version as Airbornemongo stated.

I thought this was already in. You can over over the iron crosses near the unit and see the hero data.

Correct, but that feature was added some time after the initial discussion in this thread.

I'm going to ask this question here for now since it is kinda linked to the original topic
I'm plannign to write a small tool for myself which will track progress of my units. Since the save game format is encrypted the way I'm going to do it is save the game after every scenario in the view battlefield screen and once the tool is in place enter all relevant information for each unit into the tool for each scenario. The idea is to have a page in there which gives you the overview of all your units, their current stats and model, but it also had information about the data after each scenario. So possible future features might be diagrams on kills per scenario, EXP progression, overview on average scenario EXP gain per unit type, etc, crap like that.
The question is, would anybody be interested enough in this for me to make it a bit more of a professional approach. If so I'd try to make this tool a bit more visually appealing at some point and also make sure it has some decent usability.
Possibly, time allowing I'd also discuss new features in a thread here which might be cool to have.
The work involved for the user, as mentioned, would be to enter data for each unit after each scenario, which can be cumbersome, so it is probably only for real PzC nuts, so just testing the waters here. If no interest is there I'll just play around with it for myself. It will probably fun to do, I don't have a spare time project right now and it will familiarize myself with a few techniques and frameworks (like WPF, WVVM, Unity Application Block ect for anyone who's interested) that I haven't worked with much so far.
Let me know.

Mhh could be very interesting! I'm doing the job on an excel sheet, I note exp, kills, losses and heroes at the beginning of each scenario and at the end, yes ... manually ...I don't know how to make a program but if I could be useful for testing your job....

Well I'll let you know once I have the first alpha version up and running. Once the thing is capable of saving, loading and allowing editing of the unit data adding statistical evaluations of that data will be easy.
