Paratroopers are not landing where they're suppose to!

I'm using the one-click mouse scheme and I indicate the adjacent hex for paratroopers to drop but it randomly goes to another hex. What the heck?! Please don't tell me that the developers added mis-drops. There's too many randomness in this game!! I want it to play like chess and can expect my strategy/plan to work out. Dammit.

The developers added miss-drops.

I guess some generals in WW2 wanted their strategy to work out like chess, too.

missed drop zones were a feature of the old PG (and also of real paratroop operations).
there is also a chess mode

Okay, miss-drops makes sense, but it sure would be nice if there was a notification alert like "Your paratroops missed their landing zone!" I feel like the game is sooo random and not a finished product. Like when I capture a city, there's no alert that exclaims "You captured a target city!" Sure, the flag changes but I'd like little milestones and alerts and notifications. Ugghh, I'm still playing on because it's world war 2 themed. Dammit.

The use of random numbers has nothing to do whether a product is finished, it is an intentional game mechanic that the vast majority of strategy games employ. I for one am glad not to have alerts popping up that I have to then take the time to press a button to close. I can appreciate the fact that you have wishes that would make the game more enjoyable for yourself, but just remember that not everyone would agree with those additions and it may make the game less attractive to other players.

And missed drop zones are very WWII! Happened very often.

What more of an alert do you need than seeing that they didn't land in the hex you clicked on?

I know now it's miss-drops. Before, I thought it was a bug or something wrong with my mouse! Just saying it would be nice with a little message that the drop missed its mark.

I believe this to be a nice realistic component of the game. Being an old PG veteran I actually expected this! I dont find it to be a problem as long as the wind doesnt blow you too far away!

Between the HAWK and wonderfull navigators I don't think there is a paratrooper anywhere that hasn't been missdropped at least once

Yeah. So be happy: your paras don't get a random strength decrease on drop due to failed 'chutes, lost soldiers and tree hitting; they can't get insta-killed by landing on river/lake or by dropping right onto enemy unit, and so on. Ever thought why paras are all-time bravest guys? That's beside the fact you should be... ahh... somewhat mentally unstable to jump out of perfectly flying plane -- at least, that's what my platoon leader told me before the first jump. :)

My meaning is, if you dont know how hard is to hit the ground with parachute, go to the airborne school:) And especially T-10 (old US parachute) you are falling as a stone:( And if we are talking about the losing strenght of our paras unit, hey could you imagin that you land and start fight, as I said try it pratictickly:)
