I'd be interested. But I'm not sure about 350pts, would have thought the usual 500pts would be better.

I am interested in the SOA part of the competition, Peter. WotR Yorkists would be my choice. 350pts is an interesting size of army, I feel. You get some different battlefields as well.

i'm really intrested in it Peter! :) please let me know your list for IF and i'll choose..can one player compete in more than one expansion or we have to chose only a single army?

Being very new, I was wondering if the armies you have chosen for the 2 expansions you have listed are:

1. Random (more or less)

2. What you feel are the top 8 armies in strength

3. The top 8 armies at 350 points in strenth (I expect that would be a HUGE factor)

The reason I ask is that I have all but the last 2 expansions and of course I can't play all the armies (even if I did against the AI it wouldn't do much for me). Sooooo, if these are the consensus for the top armies in the 'book', I can look into those armies.

Thanks!!

I think this is a very interesting question. I think Peter has probably gone for what he regards as some of the strongest armies in the two books, but also he has chosen armies that are quite popular. The SOA list is quite impressive, but I think strong cases could also be made for the Anglo-Irish and Santa Hermandad Nueva Castilians if you were going solely for the strongest armies - and maybe the Medieval Welsh and Milanese Condotta might be the ones to make way. But, irrespective of this, the SOA list that Peter has come up with is a very interesting one.

Count me in also, might as well take my beaten like a man and get used to some good play from my opponents. Don't count on much from me as I am very new, but I WILL make you earn it.

Thanks guys!!

An occasion to go against the good players :D I'm in, too, of course. Only for the SOA pack, though.
Any news update on the approximate date of this tournament ?

Too bad SNHC is not in there, but I'll choose two others to practice with :P

Thanks for the replies so far.

Answers to some of the questions:-

Choice of armies - it's subjective of course but the clue is in the competion title - I've tried to include both popular armies which 'appear' to be killers and less common ones where perhaps, & again it's just my opinion, more skill is needed to win consistantly. Plus some of my own favs are in there!

350 points was deliberate - I think it gives a faster result, uses less commonly seen maps, & in conjection with the victory points makes for more of a challenge.

You can enter as many expansions as you want but only two armies in any particular expansion, so 2 from RoR, 2 from SoA, 2 from DF etc.

Posting the armies from the next 2 expansions shortly.

However we'll need more players to make this competition viable.

As for the start date - it's as soon as we have 3 players opting for the same army.

Count me in for the SOA bracket. Too bad no Highlands Scots I will play wherever you need a fill in - I dont have an army preference.

For each expansion you can play upto two armies.

If you've not made your selection for an army please do so. I'd rather not decide on behalf of anyone please.

As soon as a particular army has 3 players we can start that part so if you genuinely don't mind which army to play then maybe put your name down for one of those which others have selected so far.

Cheers
