Casualty markers.

Gents,

the Bavarians are done, now for the French and Baden troops for 1809. For my 15 and 28mm TYW and 28mm WOTR I have casualty figures, 1 per base for disrupted and a 2 fig base for fragmented. Will the Napoleonics require a similar system?

Possibly, but with less bow armed casualty figures :)

We use a similar system, but the units will be 'disrupted' or 'wavering'
You can use 1 or 2 casualty base to represent each state if you wish.
I use a casualty base with green grass for disrupted and brown grass for wavering.
There's no real difference except that it requires less 'marker' bases on the table. (with a small saving on the number of figures required)
We don't tend to use 'Broken' or 'Routed' markers - becausae they don't stay on the tabe long enough to need them.

Cheers Terry,

I have now produced 1 and 2 figure bases so they will work, I suspect different coloured bases might get mistaken in the hight of battle where 1 or 2 figs cannot cause confusion. Looking forwards to the rules may give them an outing at the SWMEE at the end of March if they arrive in time!

Especially by the colour-blind among us.

I use three different kinds of markers. One is fairly smooth ground, one is a bit rockier, and the last one is really rocky. I have the surround of them painted green, orange and red. Nobody has lost track yet of how a unit's cohesion is.

If you use figures fine, but I don't think not using them adds to confusion.
