Basic rules of the competition

This is a knock-out competition - you have to win to stay in. All matches will be 350pts with "Fog of War" and "Double Moves" on. You must use the army that you have already nominated throughout the competition. You can use this thread to organise your matches if you want to.

The winner of the match is responsible for posting the result. If you have a drawn game, please let me know and then go straight ahead and start the replay. Extra time will be allowed for you to play the second game. If the second match is drawn then I will decide who goes through to the next round by a toss of the coin.

Please try and start your games promptly and complete them as quickly as you can. I will be allowing somewhere between 10-14 days for each round (I will be able to judge this more easily once we get started). Players who fail to start their games, or who "disappear" during their games will run the risk of being "knocked out" of the competition by my adjudication. I want to try and keep the competition as tightly run as possible - there will be some uneveness I know, but I cannot have some players playing their quarter final matches while others are still playing in the first round.

17/1 Regarding match 8 - I have arranged for a reserve match to be played between myself, stockwellpete (Papal States Condotta) and RussProv (to notify army) and this will replace the Tiavals v Leonidas match in the first round draw if I do not hear from either player by the time the draw for the second round is made in about a week's time. Should the Tiavalas v Leonidas match be played, or be adjudicated in favour of one of the two players, then the reserve match will be null and void.

Please remember when posting your challenge to specify "any book" in the "Opponent Army" field because your opponent may not be using an army from the same book as you.
