When you see a challenge that says...

500 points Acceptor can use any army of RoR, Legions Triumphant, S&S, actually all the add ons.

My question is: If I pick a RoR is he obligated to pick a RoR army or can he pick any army from any expansion pact he wants to. I understand he is NOT obligated in the sense of he will be penalized.

I just want to know if it is a custom that when he see's what army I pick he will pick the same.

Am I making any sense to anyone?

The guy who makes the game always picks his army first, then chooses which expansions to allow. Neither side is penalized for their choice of army(it just leads to ahistorical battles). Most people, who want the battles to make at least some sense, usually limit the opponents army to the appropiate books.

The guy who made the game can't see your army, or choose his army accordingly, since it's already locked in when he made the game(you can put an option that allows people to see which army you made the game with).
