After Vichy is established...does Vichy become an ally of the Axis...more specifically...can German troops be stationed in Vichy North Africa?

Vichy becomes an Axis-leaning neutral. It has to be pressured diplomatically to become a full Axis partner. Or there are situations whereby the Germans can dissolve Vichy. Until then, no German access to Vichy territory.

Interesting....I'm about to start a new GC as the Germans and I'm wondering how to best spend my Diplomacy funds. Any suggestions?

I've been using Fall Gelb as an extended personal tutorial. Having taken out Holland and Belgium I then went on to take Paris in late June. France continued to fight until October, when I was finally within reach of Perpignan and Marseilles. Only then did the Vichy option arise. Is the timing of that option a matter of chance? I would have thought than once the Panzers were doing wheelies down the Champs Elysees the French would throw in the towel on most occasions.
More cities

Vichy doesn't happen with just Paris...you have to take several other cities...especially those north

Thanks. Any idea which ones? I haven't found anything in the manual. In my example Metz withstood a longish siege and come to think of it the Vichy option came soon after it fell.
Not sure

I'm not sure...but I don't think you have to go south of Vichy

From the Matrix Forum on 'Time of Fury', from
Doomtrader :
From the top of my head, to trigger Vichy, you currently need to control:
Paris
and
Nantes
and
(Metz and Reims) or (Lille and Reims) or (Metz and Lille)
and
Tours or Caens
I didn't have to go as far as Nantes to get the armistice offer.

That's a great help, thanks.
