Sudden death, so you may only get one game, 350pts, FOW and DM on - and you can choose ANY army from ANY book (even if someone else has chosen that army as well).

Please sign up below with your choice of army - I will need at least 16 players to make the competition viable. Closing date for entries will be next weekend-ish (January 14/15) - I will specify the exact closing date a few days in advance.

I will not be entering myself as I am anticipating that there may need to be a few adjudications regarding slow play or abandoned games - so it is probably best if I am neutral. Each round of the competition will last about two weeks so please don't enter if you are going away in January/February or if you cannnot usually complete a game in a fortnight.

I like the idea of a wide-open tournament but aren't some historical constraints advisable? Otherwise you'll have Carthaginians vs. Lancastrians and other matches that are just a bit too odd.

Well, in LOEG they have the "Super League" where this happens already and I am trying to be as inclusive as possible here. I am interested to see how well a knock-out tournament can work on FOG because I will need to run a "tight ship" in terms of getting the rounds completed by the deadlines so that the matches in the next round can start at roughly the same time.

Most players will only get one or two games before they are knocked out so a few "odd" battles won't really matter. Mind you - I find Irish v Swiss battles odd and they could happen if I just allowed armies from "Storm of Arrows".

Are you going to enter then, TJD? I just need someone to be first and then loads of people will flood in to join.

It is looking good - we are up to ten already. I was hoping for at least 16 and we should do that easily now if I end recruitment next Saturday 14th January at midnight. It doesn't matter then if I get 23 or 41 or whatever number - because the first round can include some byes so that we end up with either 16 or 32 qualfiers in round 2.
