My first impressions

I have found accidentally about PzC before Christmas, and being a old fan of Panzer General series (PG1, AG, PacGen, PG2) I have immediately bought it together with the three DLCs. I have just finished the Warsaw scenario and I must say: what a great game!
Everything works and look as it should, map and units are beautiful (never been fan of 3D graphics anyway, but I'm an old school gamer used to the great games of 90s) and everything is very well balanced.
I have jumped head on in the 39 DLC campaign on Field Marshal difficulty and playing no-reload style. Being used to the old PG, I used mostly elite replacements and found myself out of prestige most of the time. I did not always have the best equipment available and had started scenarios with under-strength units and with free core slots, waiting to capture non primary objectives in order to buy new units and reinforce existing ones.
In most of the scenarios I have lost core units, even three at once (including SE Gebirgsjager and an over-strength two star artillery
) - it was a hard blow but still possible to complete all the scenarios until now with a DV. I have just finished Warsaw where there are so many flags inside the city that you can easily gather around 1000 prestige, so things are starting to look better. The satisfaction is even greater prevailing after so many difficulties (I have lost 7-8 core units during the Polish Campaign).
I think using the elite replacements gives a more realistic outcome. As in reality you could not afford the best equipment available for all of your units and there are battles in the middle of a campaign where replacements were not always available. Also looking at the casualties window, even with constant core losses (1-2 per scenario in average) the results are over the top in favor of your forces - something like x10 more casualties for the enemy.
Thanks for this game!
