Terrain?

Folks,

maybe I'm just missing something but I don't find any specific references to the effect of terrain in the game other than saying terrain bonus is xy %. I'm coming from the board-wargame corner and am used to clear terrain modifiers that tell me how certain terrain is modifying attack and defense values of the various units. So how can I see how good a unit is e.g. defending in a forest or how strong an attack it will be if the enemy is hiding in a forest and such?

Thanks,

Grim

Hi,

Everytime you are preparing to attack, you can take a look at modifiers of attacking and defending side:

Doom, I know that. What I mean, is there a list of the terrain modifiers available where I can see what a certain terrain actually does to my attack values or to the defending units? Say forest is cut down the attack value of tanks 50%, inf gets 50% more defense etc.. It seems the game only tells me the net result in percentage, but I can't say what certain terrain does to my attack/defense before I move into combat. Board wargames are easier to 'read' with their CRT and possible terrain modifiers and column shifts. I have to get used to these PC consims

Please go to the scenario folder (ie data\scenarios\1939 Grand Campaign\) and open consts.ini file.
You will find there all combat tables. If you will not feel comfortable with that, let me know I'll post that then.

Page 31 in the manual. That should help.
