My very first i think was Microprose's "Conflict In Vietnam" back in 86 on a comendore 64. Had lots of fun with that one for years and bought "Crusade In Europe" right after Vietnam. Boy oh boy great times! Times just fly doesnt it?
Actually I think I still have the original game boxes around somewhere. When I think of it, might look em up and read through those manuals again (they were hughe and filled with a lot of great info).

The first was probably
Stonkers in the Sinclar Zx-Spectrum in 84.
But the first one that I really loved to play was
History Line: 1914-1918 on Amiga.

Nothing to be ashamed off mate (your age). Besides From the poll about age there seems to be a lot of veteran players playing PzC and I for one is proud to be one of them

Battle of the Bulge - Commodore 64 in early 80s. Crap graphics but it's amazing what a new thing (for me, at the time) can do to increase wonder.

I didnt get into computers till around 1994 so not so far back like somne of you oldtimers...lol. Well, strategy would be Warlords 1. Then played Sierra's Aces over the Pacific. After that, I think it was East Front by Talonsoft. Loved watching the Tiger tank in the opening sequence.

Missile Command and played it where it should be played. In a pub with my beer sitting on the shelf in front of the screen where the fire buttons and track ball were.

River Raid, on my good ol' Commodore C64.
Fantastic graphic, as you can see. But one doesnt need grafic if the idea behind the game is great.

Hard to say ... but the first one I really did take note of was Space Invaders. Yup, that was on one of those original arcade machines back in 1981 or something
