random thoughts on the game

Back in the fight and really enjoying the game. I appreciate that the long campaigns link, to keep core units on track. I have 2 quick suggestions then I will get back to the game for more:
1. Should the smaller caliber AA go direct fire mode also? The 2cm Flakvierling 38 was a great anti-personnel weapon.
2. Can you have a campaign map for all the DLCs?
Okay, thanks for the opportunity, on to Stalingrad!

I also note in the first campaign that you cannot distinguish core units in the placment units side screen. You have to look at each one while you decide on what 3 units to purchase. It would be great if you could see the difference when you pull up the units so you do not have to look around the map and count unit types.
I also recommend more prestige, to allow elite replacements and upgrades.

I would love for all the AAs to have direct fire mode. That would definitely give them some more value as units, as is they are right up there with towed anti-tank in generally not being worth a slot in your core.

When reinforcments arrive, there should be an announcement. There also should be a casualty count for the scenario and one for the campaign. It helps when this is mission related (killing trains, etc).

It is too bad that units do not track their own casualties. I have revived units from a strength of 1 many times and it would be an interesting statistic.

Regarding Mountaineer's first point: "Should the smaller caliber AA go direct fire mode also?" Yes I believe they should. Historic precedent exists making direct fire logical.

Is it possible to deactivate captured equipment or others you no longer need? I am building up far more core units than I need, and certainly cannot deploy them all.
On a similar note, you should be "forced" to transfer some units as part of the setup at the start of a scenario. I know I am not the only one accumulating units. But also, it would make the game more challenging as you reassign units to other parts of the effort. This may be really important in the DLC for 43 and later as units left for Italy or France. You could get some prestige for it to help upgrade remaining units.

Use the D key (Disband). Do it during the deployment phase to get prestige back for the unit, otherwise you get nothing. You will lose any heroes and experience the unit has in any case.

Thanks, I should have looked at the einstructions, it was a lazy/rookie mistake.
On another note, I note the AI often attacks with tanks then artillery. Can you write it so that arty goes first? Makes more sense, it is how we do things in real life.
Any future thought on adding smoke (to obscure river crossings, etc)? How about blowing up bridges by pioneers as in PG2 (although any infantry unit can do it)?

I'll add my voice to having all AA have a direct fire mode.

What if the game gave you an option from the save menu to play from the decision point (DP)? For example, in DLC 41 you have the DP of going Kiev or Leningrad. If you take one option and finish it, you may want to take the other option but not restart the entire DLC. I usually save the game at the DP, but having an option similar to restart scenario would be nice.
