1. There seem to be no traits or special values regarding those abilities in the equip. file - are they tied to the unit class, so that every unit moved into the strat bomber class gets them?

2. How do these abilities actually work, for example is the rate of ammo reduction the same for all strats in every attack (never tested it), or related via a formula to their soft/hard attack stats, so differs?

For now, yes.

This depends on bomber strength and experience, but not specific attack values. Formulas is something like (20 + 10*stars)*strength/maxstrength percent, this is how much you destroy, except a small remainder which cannot be destroyed by carpet bombing.
