a) Which Level
b) When do you reload or restart?
c) How often do you lose core-units?
d) What are your results?
a)FM
b)No Reload, Restart if I lose more than one core-unit in a scenario
c)Once every 5 or 6 scenarios
d)so far only Decisive victories, however after using up almost all prestige for a Decisive victory at Arras with it tremendous losses, I should step back I guess.

a) usually FM but I also enjoy playing Guderian and Rommel (I don't like Manstein)
b) Depends... when I first got the game I wanted to go through a flawless campaign so I restarted/reloaded a lot now I just take everything as it comes (only exception when the first turn of a scenario comes with bad weather).
c) Well I have my fair share of casualties even 3-4 core units especially in more difficult scenarios (most of them being recce or PzIV)
d) I always go for the DV and usually take it on the FM level - on Guderian it's a different story ( I haven't yet played the Streets of Moscow scenario and from the looks of it I presume it will be tough)

a.) FM
b.) never, no matter what I forgot or what ridiculous things happened. Reloading is a good way to ruin Panzer General & Panzer Corps for yourself and turn it into a "My Little Panzer" RPG.
EXCEPTION: SE units. I reload till I get one (by luck of the draw 3 SE Infantry so far) but don't disband them for Prestige.
The totally random way SE units get awarded (I got only 1 Infantry during the whole default campaign and my 1943 West campaign ended similarly) annoys me so much, I posted several alternatives and hope Rudankort gets a revelation regarding SE units during Christmas.
c.) Almost never. It's mostly recon units that die every other scenario, I probably benefit from the Beta experiences where I lose about 1-2 units every 2 scenarios or so. Mostly it's no unit losses or 2-3 during Beta. Detailed reports with losses for each scenario in the Beta forums.
d.) In the default campaign always DV maybe except one of the final USA scenarios or intentional delays to take another path. Only DV's in the DLCs so far as well... but as I mentioned in another thread, I might decide to skip or play DLC Moscow 41 defensively in order to prepare for 1942. I saw some scary pics by Kerensky regarding DLC 1942.

a) FM or General if i play a campaign for the first time and want a more chilled back experience.
b) I do not reload at all, obviously except when i had to quit in the middle of a scenario but thats more the usual save/load then reload. I sometimes restart a whole scenario if i insists on wining with a DV to take certain path or if the outcome was to disastrous to carry on playing.
c) Not very often if you do not count recon units. I consider recons kind of expendable. In the whole DLC39 all i lost was a single core tank due to rushing him to far forward and even no recon. I expect tho to be losing more units as the war progress with the rising lethality.
d) In the stock campaign on FM all DVs until invasion of the USA tho i had to repeat a few scenarios (Sea Lion and Kursk mostly) until i found out a working strategy. In the DLC39 won all missions as DV. Sadly not having enough time to play further. I hope to fix that over Christmas.

I'm with you. The game should be challenging on the default level so that is what I play.
I only re-play the scenario if I get a loss that ends the campaign, since I want to play the game all the way through. If I lose a core unit I lose a core unit, that's war. I have only lost a few scenarios but I get a DV only about 1/2 the time.

I played on colonel as well for the first campaign. Didn't reload to correct wrong moves or to get SE units, didn't even check the campaign path. I just played as far as I could, so after a DV at Moscow 43 I got another one with Overlord, and the campaign ended there, since I had missed the boat earlier for SeaLion. Still it was fun.
Next I'll try a bigger difficulty. Dunno if I change my behavious towards reloading for SE units - max. three core units more or not make quite a difference. I had gotten only one in my campaign, when it was almost over.

a) Colonel (default)
b) Never, deal with it! Reloading would ruin it for me.
c) About 1 to 2 per scenario, once as high as 4.
d) Almost always DV (in the Grand Campaign. Haven't played default all the way through)

A) I play the DLC's on FM with a slow experience gain setting
B) I play scenarios all the way to the end without any reloads but sometimes i restart from scratch if things get too ugly. Sealion 42 is a good example, I think i had 6 -7 core units sunk on my first attempt before even reaching the beaches.
C) Some scenarios are worse than others. If i start loosing 4-5 in an attempt, I usually take it from the top.
D)Nearly always DV's like everyone else

A. Manstein
B. All units are expendible, although I admit sometimes I hate to lose my precious SE units and I give them a second 'life'
C. At least 1 per scenario, often much more.
D. Sometimes I have to settle for marginal victories, but most of the time it's still decisive.

A) Colonel
B) I save once every turn, just in case. It's an habit I took during the betas, so I can experiment. Aside from testing, I do not reload often but occasionally (like in case of a core unit loss with a succession of unlucky RNG rolls).
C) Depends. I think I lost 2? core units in DLC39 (release replayed), but I lost practically one unit every battle (especially infantry) once Barbarossa started in the 41 beta.
D) Vanilla campaign : mix of MV and DV (as I was learning the game, I'd probably have more DV if I replayed one now). DLCs : mostly DVs, but I still haven't played Wassigny :p. I purposefuly avoid Spoils of War (I know I can get a Pyrrhic DV on this one), and couldn't get a DV at Vyazma the one time I played it during the beta.

a) Which Level
First time, and when i know nothing about the map: FM, second time: Manstein
b) When do you reload or restart?
FM: never
Manstein: sometimes
c) How often do you lose core-units?
FM: 0
Manstein: 0 (because of reload)
d) What are your results?
FM: DV at all
Manstein: 80% DV, on tough map MV

A) Default
B) Never. War has wins and losses. Take them both like the hard core General you are.
C) About 1 every other scenario.
D) 75% of them DV

a) Which Level
Colonel
b) When do you reload or restart?
Only when the scenario has become unwinnable due to loses. I find it extremely boring to play the same scenario twice - the element of surprise is gone.
c) How often do you lose core-units?
All the time. everything is expendable. I have come to accept that casualties are just very high in PC & random events happen like a cavalry unit whacking 5 pts off a panzer. Only place where I value experienced units is Air where experience seems more important.
d) What are your results?
75% DV

Playing on FM here and when playing a map for the first time no reloads at all. On my 2nd campaign I will reload when the RNG gets out of wack (+/- 3 - yes, both ways).
I rarely lose core units mainly due to playing with 5 artillery and 3 Stukas most of the time.
Mainly DVs, but knowing the map from the beta plays a large role here.

a) FM
b) Reload: hardly ever. Restart: never did. As it happens, it can be that I play one turn after lunch and go away. Then I like to replay the AI's move when I continue playing in the evenening just to refresh my memories.
c) Rarely. I play defensive (having more problems with this strategie in the original campaign and when trying Guderian) with lots of artillery. When it happens, it is most often a recon that I loose.
d) Almost everything DV, never cared to write my results down

a) Which Level
This is my first playthrough, so I am playing at the default level (Colonel).
b) When do you reload or restart?
I haven't yet.
c) How often do you lose core-units?
I think I have lost 3 core units so far.
d) What are your results?
So far I got a decisive victory on all missions except for my last one (the first Sea Lion one). I missed it by 2 turns I think. I was running short on prestiege for a little bit due to some careless mistakes I made. I don't always have the patience to be careful.

a) Which Level?
FM or Rommel
b) When do you reload or restart?
With the old dice rule, I loved to reload to see how I could improve a turn but now I play more forceful. I reload when I do something stupid, like missing that I have activated an air unit instead of the ground troops underneath and so move them instead. Argh! And I never learn, happens at least once every second scenario.
Oh, and I have to admit, I do reload instantly when I get another +1 spotter. I can't stand them anymore! When my arty sees the enemy first, even with such a hero, I am playing it wrong. Better no hero than someone I really, really don't want. (which, btw, means, that my artillery units still have no hero attached to them)
c) How often do you lose core-units?
I didn't lose a single one until I got to the first US map in the regular campaign. I had gone through the previous maps with DVs and my units were simply not experienced enough to take the US forces that early without getting seriously hit and suffer more than a view losses. Since then, I prefer a marginal victory at certain points to lengthen the campaign and improve the units considerably.
I lost my third recon unit in the DLCs in the latest map I played - but that's alright: I need them to tell me where to bait & trap and they are cheap enough to lose one on occasion (even on Rommel) if it means a serious advantage in positioning.
d) What are your results?
DVs in the DLCs so far but some marginals in the regular campaign as well.

a) Which Level
I could play harder, but I'm pretty happy with field marshal. Any harder and I start losing the fun factor and raising the stress factor.
b) When do you reload or restart?
I would like to say never, but that is not true. The answer is very rarely. I try to play ironman but my will is not always iron. I reload till I get a SE unit if I have an open spot. I also reload when I get a spotting hero on an artillery unit or some other completely worthless combination.
c) How often do you lose core-units?
Like everyone else, it is suicide to be a recon unit in my army. More notably I have problems with fallschimjagers. It has become blatantly obvious that I have no clue how to manage paratroops. I used them to great effect in the previous versions of the game, but something has changed. I can't keep them alive, but that doesn't stop me from using them. I lose one or two of them every two or three scenarios. Besides recon and fallschirmjagers, my core rarely takes a loss.
d) What are your results?
I get DV almost always. Every once in a while I get a series of of bad RNG that prevents a DV, but that is to be expected.
