I'm trying hard to get a grip on the convoy process it being particularly important for GB. This time I have GB Colonies as AI controlled. Looking at the various reports it seems that convoys have been at sea, some have landed OK and one has suffered losses from Axis naval action. (Game turn 2)

Looking at the routes, the report of one convoy route seems to be repeated three times - not sure why this is so - anyway one convoy lands at Southampton, the other is for Scapa Flow and this was the one attacked. Why is the AI sending a convoy to Scapa - this is asking for interception. Surely destinations should be southern UK ports.

Overall I have to admit to feeling uncomfortable with the way in which the convoy process is implemented. At the start of a game turn, the GB player has only retrospective info from reports as to number of convoys and routes which makes the provision of cover a touch tricky.

On a more general note, I'm finding it very difficult to find sea zones. This is a product of very advanced age and very poor eyesight. The names of the zones on the map are very small so it is necessary to zoom in quite some way to be able to read 'em. This then means, at least in my case, a lot of scrolling around the zoomed-in map. Geography was never one of my strong points. Could not the sea zone names be made a bit bigger for us oldies.

The size of the font for sea zones is moddable

To change that you must go to the map skin folder you use.
For example go to
Time of Fury\data\gfx\[MapSkin]Normal\ folder and open
appearance.csv file.

You will find there a number of digits but you are interested in the lines where there is following entry:
Name Text Dst and Font

whole line looks like that:
-77 35 320 20 Arial 20 80 255 255 255 0 0 0 Name Text Dst and Font

first value after the name of the font is the size of the font at current zoom level.

You can check it dynamically.
To do so:

Run the game, load a campaign, edit the appearance.cvs file and save it (any text editor or excel is enough), then switch for a different skin and switch back to the one you are modding.

Umm that didn't work too well. The font for sea zones is now excellent. Unfortunately all of the other text - names of cities etc is the same size which clutters up the map. Is there a way to isolate just sea zones for change?

Also whilst I'm at it - can I mod anything to prevent convoys from Brit colonies being routed to Scapa Flow?

Indeed, this font size is used for more than just sea zones names.

What I can suggest, increase the font only for higher level of zoom.

You can also change the names of sea zones to something simpler.
For my tests I just changed the names of all sea zones into numbers. Much easier to find what is where.
