Are unit traits visible within the game?

Hi,
I saw that the Pioniere unit was more expensive then the Grenadier, even though its stats are worse. So I searched the forum and found out that the Pioniere are good against fortifications and ignore a defenders entrenchment level. That is useful. Is there anywhere within the game that this is visible? I never noticied it. If it was mentioned in the tutorial then I forgot about it. If this information isn't available within the game I hope it can be added because it seems like necessary info to know.

Thanks

No, traits are not available, but it would be a good idea to list them in the Library

Thanks for the reply. Do you know if I go through all of the commonly asked questions Faq will I know pretty much all the rules I need to know (like the traits), or will there be more that I need to find elsewhere? The traits seem like critical info to know and I am afraid that there is more that I haven't realized yet.

You need to open Data\equipment.pzeqp (I use Excel after I associate pzdat files with it) to see what units have what traits.

You can also see the traits when you open the equipment file using Mark Garrett's Equipment Editor: viewtopic.php?t=26898

This thread has short explanations of what each trait does: viewtopic.php?t=26186

what about recon attacking against AT units. I read somewhere in the forums there would be a special trait.

Rudankort on the linked thread wrote:"rott" stand for fixed turret/rotating turret respectively, and in the future initiative penalty (-3) will occur when a fixt unit attacks rott unit, but for now it is hard-coded for AT and tank classes
The recon units all have rott as their trait, so I assume this is the effect.
