Unable to import core into dlc41

I seem to be unable to import my core forces from '40 to '41. I open the game. I select the dlc41 campaign. It asks me if I would like to import forces and I say yes. I get the first briefing then everything goes black and stays that way.
It appears that everything works fine if I choose not to import core forces.
Anybody have a clue what is going on?

What is the version number on the main menu?

Main menu says v. 1.05. So that appears to be correct.

How did you update to 1.05?

I'm still playing with it. The black screen I mentioned in the first post is in windowed mode. In regular mode it goes back to the main menu screen and freezes. I hope that is a good hint for someone.
VPaulus. I'm not entirely sure I understand the question. I got the link and the activation number. I downloaded and started the exe. I picked the default choices as they were asked.

He probably asked: Did you update with the link "update Panzer Corps" or did you download the patch as a zip file ?

Thanks huertgenwald, that's what I was basically asking, only there's a third way. To update through DLC.
And I think that Vaughn probably updated through the DLC.
Vaughn, could we do a little test?
- Download the update 1.05.
http://www.gamefront.com/files/21063779 ... e_v105_zip
- Unistall DLC 41.
- Install update 1.05
-Install DLC 41
When installing update 1.05 it will say nthat you already have the game up to date. It will ask if you want to continue. Please continue then.
Report back, please.

I had a lot of hope it would work - but it didn't. I got the same results.
Is it possible that my saved core force got corrupted somehow?
Any more good ideas?

It's a possibility.
Maybe Rudankort can help you, if he see this post. I'll PM him. But probably only tomorrow.
Please don't erase your save files, we might need them.
Sorry for all this inconvenience.

We had a similar problem yesterday, but it was related to the game not being updated correctly to 1.05. Looks like this is not the case here. To understand better what's going on, could you please check:
- If you start the '41 campaign without importing your core, will it work then?
- What is the exact size of the equipment file (Data/equipment.pzeqp) in your curent game installation?
Also, please send me your saved core files (they are located in %My Documents%\My Games\Panzer Corps\SaveCore), I'll see if I can repro the issue on my side using your core.

It seems to work fine if I am not loading core forces.
The size of the equipment.pzeqp file says 215k.
I'm sending the files now.

It's interesting, the size of eqp file is slightly different than what I would expect. Please send your version to me too, together with the other files.

OK, got the files. I think, I know what's going on here. There is a unit in your saved core which the game cannot find in the equipment file: Captured 7.5cm Para. Apparently, this is the custom unit you've mentioned in your email. After update to 1.05 your equipment file was overwritten with new version, and custom unit(s) were lost.
I will change the code so that the game ignores invalid units in saved core - this is the best I can do in such situations. This change will get into the next patch. And in the meantime I suggest to just add your custom units to the new eqp file, and the core should import correctly.

You are good and I'm embarrassed. I've been fiddling with it for most of the day and you find the problem almost immediately. Thanks for the help. I will do what you suggest.

Hi,
re: This change will get into the next patch. And in the meantime I suggest to just add your custom units to the new eqp file, and the core should import correctly.
I have similar problem, can start the 41er DLC but when I try to import saved core units nothing happens and the game hang up. I see also no list what core file I like to import, game hangs. I check my last save file from the 40er DLC and can find any captured units, but maybe I upgraded them to normal german units, cant remeber exactly, maybe I had captured units only in my first run of the DLC's
Can someone please explain step by step how I can add captured units from saved core file to the new equipment file. I have no idea.
some another infos
1.) I played the 39 and 41 dlc's 2 times and in my savecore directory there are 11 files from 000000.pzcore to 000010.pzcore
2.) when I try to start the 40 dlc as new game I can import the core from my 39 dlc without problems but there I have no captured units. In the list of core files I can see 4 files, but only one give info about number of units and prestige
Can anybody help please? I like to play the 41 DLC
Thanks
Clive

Hi,
I just load last scenario from 40er DLC (maginot line) saved it and 40er DLC end saying that my cores are saved.
In my savecore diretory I move all files except of the one from today to another directory. There is now only one file, 000000.pzcore, in this directory, but problem didnt changed.

What if you copy the files from SaveCore to a backup location then delete all of them from SaveCore. Then reload Maginot Line and play to the end of the DLC 40, then try DLC 41 and try to import. That's what I'd be trying anyway.
