Is there a way to find a unit quickly? It's nice to have hundreds of units, but if we have a hard time finding they're not sorted in alphabetic order or when we can't search for any, then settings up a scenario because quite an effort. Or am I missing something?

Well, at least you can filter the units to those of nations actually used in the scenario and those available during the scenario timeframe.
The latter part is slightly broken, I think, but if you stick within the WW2 timeframe, it should work as intended.
There's tremendous room for improvement, that's for sure, but most of the time, I found it was usually bearable.

Usually bearable? No, it's just a pain.

The Unit Editor made by Mark Garnett or the Scenario Editor in the game?

Have you tried sorting/editing by nationality, class and units and time frame
IE: select Infantry/Germany and then select only those units avail in a particular scenario?
By using the above filters the units selection gets cut by at least 80%-90%,of course the above example is only applicable for editing existing scenarios.
Hope that helps,at least w/ editing an existing map/scenario
I personally haven't tried making a scenario from scratch yet,so I cannot definitively respond in that regard

It doesn't completely solve the issue but you can drag the width of the unit preview pane so that you can see 3 or 4 across - makes things a bit easier, but a proper search function would be better.
