Zones = designation of a hex or hexes
To use for example = to script a captured unit, to script a victory condition (a unit or units need to move to a designated (zoned) area of hexes)
Trigger = there are map and time triggers
Mostly map and time triggers are used for scripting victory conditions
But also for units that should appear as reinforcements but not in turn 1
And also for scripting actions during a scenario like the weather, or the AI changing from defensive to offensive stance.

Thank you niki, thats helps a bit. You kept it simple, thanks. It gives me an idea WHAT they are used for. Now I need to figure HOW exactly to use them. Im not sure I get at all the 1 -1 turns thingy like was used in the editor manual.

Wordpad can only read simple formats (this means plain text word docs)
Above mentioned doc has pictures etc. in it.
