Slitherine

Hi folks,
I got a bit upset about downloading from Slitherine...
got back from work and tried to update to V1.04. Download through game very slow (1 hour+) and at he end got an error message! cannot save because... I cannot remember what exactly.
Ok, well got the update from GameFront in about 10 minutes - so no real problem.

Now, though. Having purchased DLC 1 & 2. Exactly same thing happens. Very slow download and at the end, cannot save the file.. looked like same reason.

nearly 1Gb down the drain... and couple of hours.

Windows7 with SP1. using Firefox. done plenty of downloading over the last week... and these are the only items that have given any problem.

So that's my bleat!
Any ideas out there?

Sorry for hearing you're having trouble.
I've just tested to download 1.04 from Slitherine, and it took 20 minutes. It doesn't seem to be a server side issue.
I too used Firefox and Win7.
Perhaps you could give a try with another browser.

finally got the 1st one, GC '39 after 90 minute download - was hoping it wouldn't fail at last minute
installed all ok.

going for 2nd one now
need to install IE to use it... dunno if I will bother, just take the time since I have no problem else where

just annoyed me, so wanted to comment. must be early morning UK, or is server in US?

if there was an alternative download location for the DLC would happily try that.

Personally never had any big issues to download any of the updates, DLC or betas.
I always use Firefox. I like always to have a second browser in my PC. Just in case I might have issues with Firefox. Usually use Chrome or IE for that purpose.

While there are other mirrors for the updates, in case of DLC or the Manin game, I'm afraid there aren't.

I understand your frustration, after all you just bought a product and want to download it.
In the worst scenario, of not being able to download, I'm sure the guys in Slitherine office would end up helping you.

Sorry you are having problems. There are always a number of links in the connection between you and the server. The server is very fast and not overloaded so it must be an isue somewhere in the chain. Unfortunately there is not much we can do about it the slow speed. If you try downloading again it will use a different chain to connect and it maybe faster.

If this does not work we can try and alternative link, but try this first and let us know.

Have got the second one, and it ws a bit quicker, so all good

The first time when they failed I was downloading both at once, so that may have been a factor.

Anyway, happy now! See what happens when I go to get '41, as no doubt i will!
