Prestige

I know this is most likely moot, but I liked the original PG restoring units to their full strength in between scenarios during a campaign. I don't like to dumb the game down on lower levels, I prefer the challenge of the upper levels, but I don't have enough prestige to rebuild plus grow. I think it is cooler when you can build up a few units resting while fighting units at the end of the game are restored for the next fight.

Restoring a unit to full strength in the deployment phase is free unless you use experienced replacements, so effectively the way PzC does it is the same, except you have to do it manually. If it was automatic you might find your units having reduced experience.

Hmm, yeah, I see what your saying. You still loose your experience that way though. In the PG version I played on units were restored to full strength and maintained their experience. The way it is now I can only get so far in a campaign before running out of prestige rebuilding my army. Then I have to play with none and ultimately loose.

I like it this way. After you play 100 games, I think you will like it.

Replacing experienced soldiers who became casualties with inexperienced troops seriously hanpered a combat unit effectiveness. Didn't matter whether you replace them during a firefight (highly unlikely), or once you were back at the base camp. So having to spend prestiage points to bring your experience level back up in the deployment stage is real world. Old First Cavalry Division platoon leader (RVN)
