That was pretty cool! Even had a JS II momentarily in the video! My only suggestion is replace that one shot of the grenade going off in game on the bridge and add a shot of soldiers getting hit by a grenade or show a soldier throwing smoke etc...

Actually, I think that is a smoke grenade on the bridge – but I will have to check to make sure. I recorded quite a lot to get the ones I used, so I sort of forget now.

But there was a demo charge that took out half a squad.

How is the quality of the game parts? I was having real bad results with that until I almost doubled the fps on the video recorder. Before they were very jumpy and slow.

Nice video Xerkis.
In this version the Team Assault parts are better integrated than the previous version.
Good job.

I looked at it again, I don't think its smoke. If it is, the smoke sure went away pretty fast. I didn't know it was a demo charge that took out the squad after that, but it make sense. The game video looks good, so what ever adjustment you made worked. I liked how you game video matched the war video. You really did a good job on this and its fun to watch.

Thanks. It is fun to make it too. Glad you all like it. Defiantly open to suggestions and pointers – this was the first time I tried something like this.

It was somewhat strange playing the game just to try to set up a scene I wanted to film. Half the time the enemy would kill the very soldier I wanted to film in my next turn. Or after several turns of trying to position my squads, the skirmish would end because of points just before I got a chance to film what I wanted.

And I obviously was trying to get real and game videos to sync up as you pointed out. I wanted to try to show the realism in the game and also to kind of make the transition between the two. Sort of a psychological fade from one to the other – but that might be getting too deep for that.

Thanks – and I will.
I haven’t ran out of ideas yet.

Redid the video a bit.
Added some more footage and sync the music and video together. In other words, major beats in the music occur at key points in the video.

I think it is a bit better than the other one.

If you don’t agree (or if you do agree) let me know

I don't know if I remembered all details that got changed, but the ones I did notice I liked :)

Some of what did change is a bit subtle. Things like cymbal crashes in the music occur when there is an explosion in the video or more “floating” sounds go with say a para drop, etc.
Stuff that isn’t necessary noticed outright, but subconsciously you might pick them up.

Humorous story with this.

I posted the link to it on my oldest son’s Facebook page for him to look at it. He never commented on it so I asked if he saw it yet or not. He told me he thought that someone “hacked in to my Facebook account and was trying to spread a virus” so he just ignored it. I guess I’m not known for doing even the smallest creative thing. He finally watched it and liked it.

But it was very funny that his view of me is that he thought there was no way I made it… Well, anyhow it’s real funny to me.
