Hello. With the upcoming release of DLC 1941 and the focus on the DLC on Russia, we have some more goodies.
As of 1.05 (next patch) we're considering(not promising) adding a few new units and new multiplayer maps. These are going to be freely included in the patch.

But first comes the testing.

There are four maps for consideration, and several new Russian units are being added. In order to make the testing process easier, the new units current use PLACEHOLDER images. This way, we do not need to transfer unit images to anyone prior to testing.

New units: KV85, IS1, 85mm ATG(switch mode for the 85mm AD unit), 100mm ATG, SMG Infantry, 43 versions of Guards, Regulars, Mountain, and paratroopers infantry.

New maps:
Iron Cross, Red Star
August 12 1942
The armies of Germany and the Soviet Union battle for domination of a strategically vital plateau.
Description: Medium to large size, dual offense battle. (Think The Frozen North, but with relatively clear weather)

The Dnieper
September 15 1943
The failure of Operation Citadel places Germany on the defensive as the Soviets surge forward to secure crossings on The Dnieper River.
Description: Small size, battle for bridge crossings. (Think Battle for the Bzura)

Return to Kiev
November 1943
The Soviet offensive to reclaim Kiev clashes against the counterattack of a newly formed German Panzer Corps.
Description: Medium to large size. Kiev is a very large city (think Warsaw) in the center of the map.

Steamroller against Steel
May 10 1944
The Soviet Steamroller continues its advance across Eastern Europe while the Panzers of the Wehrmacht fight to turn the tide.
Description: Large to huge size, dual offense battle. (Think Hylan Valley)

What we are looking to test:
Are the new units balanced? Too powerful, too weak?
Are the new maps balanced? Two of them are fictional and should be more or less perfectly balanced, but two of them are not, and could be unbalanced.
Prestige numbers are similar to the current MP maps. That is, they are fairly abundant, there is no 'starving'. Are they still too low, or not high enough?

How the testing will work:
Make a post in this thread asking to try one of the maps. I will then host that game (paired game) and give you the password.

We won't be able to accommodate everyone for testing, but I promise I'll do the best I can. Remember, we're not here to just play and enjoy the content, we have to seriously test the maps. Once the balance has been worked out, then comes the time to pretty up the maps with manual tile placement and seeing the new units with their new icons. ;)

I'll leave this thread open for 1 day, and starting tomorrow, I'll select several people to begin testing these maps.
If you do volunteer to test, please try to play at least 2 or 3 turns per day. Playing 1 turn a week is not a pace we can afford at this time. The time for leisure play is once the content hits official release. ;)

I assume it is multiplayer via the full game? I thought multiplayer in the beta is disabled.

I can volunteer for 1 or more maps. Whichever map you deem as being next most important to test.

Kerensky,

I remember there was a thread somewhere with a wish list of units to add on the Germans side. Was there any plans to add more German equipment? I am looking forward to seeing the Henschal 129 in the game.......excuse the byass :-)

Alright, everyone above this post, check your private messages!

A few final notes:
1. Remember the new units are only using place holder images.
2. The maps have not had all their visual polish done. One of the important things we need to balance is the placement and amount of close terrain. Do maps need more, or less of it? Once this is tested on and decided once and for all, the maps will be altered, and then 'locked' with the final addition of manually placed terrain tiles to make them 'pretty'.
3. Maps are flagged as custom and have custom equipment files, dont worry about those red flags.
4. I'll be spending at least a few hours a day over the next few days to get as many turns as I can with as many of you as I can.

As a note: Some of the maps might be broken. deducter just said the captured T34/41 causes a CTD

HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM:

1. Close Panzer Corps.
2. Open your DLC 1941 Folder. (Where you installed DLC 1941)
3. Look for C:\Games\Panzer Corps\DLC3\Graphics\Units
4. Grab all files inside that folder. They should be:

captured T-34-40.png
captured SU-122_AT.png
captured M4_Sherman.png

and so on.

5. Copy paste all of these files into your main panzer Corps Unit directory:
C:\Games\Panzer Corps\Graphics\Units

For me it is the above address.

If you still have a problem, or are having other problems let me know!

Thanks for everyone for help testing! I'm going to abandon all the games I hosted under 1.04 LIVE VERSION.

For anyone who wishes to resume testing, please do so under 1.05 BETA VERSION.
You are all free to test the maps against each other at this point!
