Unit captured, what now ...?

First of all, I really love those captured units! :D

But there is some thing that bothers me somehow. If such a unit was captured, found, dug out of the mud, it had to be inspected, a crew had to be found, handling had to be tested, ammunition had to be found ... think of more problems yourself .

By the way this works by now, we do get this units with normal strenght and ready for action the next turn. This seems a little bit odd, concerning the points stated above. I'd rather expect those units to be say at half strenght, with little to no ammo so it takes one turn before they are ready for action.

Realizing that PzC is beer and prezel, I wont complicate things more than necessary but I think this would add some flavour/realism. And playing devils advocate, this could even have influence on the prestige discussion

I think that's an interesting idea. Maybe it should come without ammo or something like that.

I do appreciate your commitment to realism but I don't think making the player waste a turn to resupply the unit or something would make the game more fun.

I dont want to change the ease people get familiar with this outstanding game. I just put my thoughts on a tablet to discuss. I know there are great people here reading this forum with even greater expertise when it comes to WWII. That's why I am rising this question here. Want to hear your thoughts about it.

I realize my previous post probably came off as a bit snotty, I apologize. What I meant was that making such a change should have a sound basis in how it relates to the gameplay experience for the player above all else. Panzer Corps is a fairly abstracted game in many respects, and although this is a good suggestion, and it would probably be especially good in a more realistic game like the Panzer Campaigns series. I am not sure it would necessarily be required for a game that is more abstract like Panzer Corps.

Monkspider is right, why add an extra mechanic that serves no other purpose than to make things more tedious and complicated.

I had no problems with your answer monkspider, no need for apologise.

So let's close this can of worms.

It's good realism, making Captured Units require a little bit of 'fixing up' before they are ready for action.
Unfortunately it makes for poor and confusing gameplay (anyone remember the confusion about 0 ammo Karl in the original Barbarossa map?)

So while I fully encourage people to pursue these degrees of 'realism' in their own work(all the tools are there :D), official content will probably not ever see these sorts of mechanics.
