Please vote: Canadian fighter spawn location

Since players now get PP's back from transporting from port to port. Should we then maybe move the spawn location for the Canadian fighter back to Canada instead of Liverpool and let the fighter spawn at 10 steps when Belgium surrenders?

This means that the fighter won't be available in the early stages of Case Yellow and that would help Germany having air superiority against France. The fighter should be able to get to Britain in time for Sealion. And it would also force the Allied navy to escort this fighter to Britain.

Would this help a bit with the Case Yellow scenario? Remember that France now gets 8x3 PP's back when transporting units from Africa to France.

Please vote yes or no to this.

1. Canadian fighter spawn location
a. Liverpool (as now)
b. Halifax

2. Canadian fighter size
a. 8 (as now)
b. 10

I would leave the things as now. RAF was a strong air force by 1940 so having 2 fighters units to represent this is right. It almost has no sense for me that the allies have again to transport the fighter unit from Canada since consulting canadian 1940 OOB there´s no base for a canadian fighter unit being there. Let´s remember that RCAF was not strong enough in 1940 so this canadian unit spawned in Canada have almost no sense from a historical point of view. I like more that the fighter spawn in UK because this woud represent dutch, belgian, polish, and czech squadrons formed in UK and not only canadian that as I have mentioned, had tiny air force in 1940.

Germans HAD NO air superiority in the real war in Case Yelow so we cannot make this operation a cakewalk for the germans.

Regarding the french evacuating their troops from NA we should make something to remove this. France would not never have emptied NA of troops as it is allowed to do with no consequences since the frenchs get again the garrisons for "free" if the armistice is rejected.

I vote no.

Could the NA garrisons be "locked" in place somehow?

    Or...

Give the French a moral drop, like the British home garrison rule, for each garrison removed from NA?

I will agree with Victor here. Maybe we should rename this fighter and leave it in Liverpool at 8 steps.

As long as they're on the map they can be moved. We can make them spawn later, but then the Italians can make a surprise invasion into an empty hex and that's not good either.

In 1940, there were only 2 squadrons of planes that were transferred to Europe, and that did not happen before the fall of France. The canadian had a shortage of planes.

    As a reference:

No. 1 (F) Squadron, and its UK built Hurricanes, were transferred in England in June of 1940. This unit was declared fully operational in August 1940 at RAF Station Northolt, Middlesex, and was heavily engaged for 8 weeks at the peak of the Battle of Britain.

I dont know how the game should represent that. How many squadrons a plane represent in the game?

The Canadians are meant to symbolize all Allied fighters not present in UK that were sent to UK. These can be Canadian, Polish, Norwegian etc. Some of these countries mainly contributed pilots. E. g. Norway had a base for pilot training called Little Norway in Canada. Those pilots fought on the Allied side during the war. Poland contributed a lot etc.

I would preserve the status quo here. There is no reason for the Polish pilots to appear in Canada. Besides, it would be a very tempting target for the Germans and they could easily sink it if they are determined to do it unless the RN uses most of its ships to escort just one fighter unit. None of this is desirable IMO. That unit is too important for the UK in 1940 and the Battle of Britain shouldn't be easy for the Germans.
