Hi all,

This is really a 'what to do' request to the company: I brought 'Spartan' on ebay second-hand but it fails to install. I get an error message when a master file fails to load onto my PC and the install fails to load.

Is it possible to buy a replacement CD if I send in the original or do I have to buy the entire game?

Whilst reading the manual during my four attempts at installing the game looked quite interesting: It reminded me of the French company AEGOD untill they were tragically brought out by the once great but now appalling company Swedish company called Paradox. That, or is the game like a modern Paradox game: Unfinished upon release, assume the modders will finish it and save them money, if sales are high enough even releasea patch or two to complete the job. or if the modders run into a brick wall like Victoria II regarding the failed economy model simply say tough?

Does anyone know what it means?
I see I posted in the wrong forum, looking before I just didn't the support section, possibly as my eyesight is fading faster than daylight currently is over here. Perhaps if a mod could move it to the right section?

I am 'guessing' but that sounds like a bad disk situation.

I think that has happened to me before with programs where the medium was in some manner damaged.

The game by the way is a nice program, bit old now. I suspect your source might have sold you an item in a damaged state (not necessarily saying it was done knowingly).

Sorry the only thing you can do is buy the game again. We cannot support 2nd hand copies of games that were damaged by previous owners for obvious reasons

I shot myself in the foot there: I should have said my old game disk wasn't working....But I prefer honesty
A bit of a "doh!" moment by me anyway: even buying a replacement disk wouldn't work as the code wouldn't match that on the manual. (I was very tired and remembered a disk on a new game years ago didn't work so I sent it back and got a replacement sent out, but that was before copy protection I guess).

I'll have a look for another boxed version then as a Civ-style game is always a yes for me

The game arrived today: a very rapid delivery: thank you.

One thing though: I see the game has now switched to being sold on the budget label "Sold out Software", had the correct image been displayed in the shop I would have looked elsewhere.

I paid £24 for the game including a £4 postage & packing charge: a quick search has shown me that I could have purchased on Amazon, the entire game and had it delivered for a total of £4.12.
I'll leave it as I can afford to support small specialist companies that produce games I like, and I already have the manual (e-manuals only on Sold Out), but you need to change the image in your online shop!
