Trouble Saving Move to Multiplayer Server

When I complete a move in multiplayer mode, the game connects to the multiplayer server and appears to save the game. But it doesn't. The game still appears as "my turn" and if I select play, replays the start of the turn and I have to redo my turn. (Which isn't fair to my opponents since I really get to practice my turn a couple of times.)

I have started going to main menu several times. It usually saves the game to that point. At least that way, I don't have to redo the entire move. But I am now having trouble getting a save to stick.

Thanks in advance,

John

Hi.
So far nobody reported this kind of issues with Panzer Corps, so it's probably local.
Maybe something with your firewall or your internet security software.
But I'll report this to Iain.

Can you give us as much info about the setup as possible so we can try and work out what this is.

Have you noticed any pattern to the issue? How often does it happen?

Having turns downloaded and not uploaded will get flagged as potential cheating by the server so we need to try and get this fixed.

I typically connect using my AT&T wireless card. I'm not sure, but I think I may also have been connected to my company's VPN when I had the problem most severely.

You're correct that it can support or appear to be cheating. Since my moves don't upload and it sometimes reverts back to the beginning of the turn, I have sometimes made my move 3 or 4 times. That is not fair to my opponents.

Lately, I've been disconnecting my wireless card and reconnecting before attempting a save or upload. This seems to help. For some reason, a "fresh" connection works better than one that has been "up" for sometime. I also avoid playing while connect to the VPN, now.

Hope this helps.

I tried to play PzC at work and had the same problem because the network is set up to allow downloads but not uploads. This could be your issue, too.

I wouldn't advise to play while connected through a VPN, specially through a corporate one.
Usually it's configured with stricter rules.
