Schnellboote Ammo: Bug or Design?

I'm just finishing my first go through of the '39 campaign and noticed that the Schnellbootes on the Norway scenarios have more ammo than capacity. On Oslo, they have 12/2 listed as their ammo, and, on Narvik, they have 10/2. Is this a bug in the equipment file or by design? If by design, why not raise their capacity as well? Looks odd having more ammo than the unit is supposed to carry.

IIRC it is by design.

And IMO it makes sense to keep them at their normal capacity, this way oversupply for important missions can be simulated quite nicely while once you have used those up (or are in a scenario without oversupply) they are at their normal low numbers.

All units with modified ammunition is of course by design. 0 ammunition 'surprise attack' units is the same concept, just switched in reverse.

As charon pointed out, there is no need to alter the default capacity too.

The beauty and flexibility of the system we have is when we want content to provide a schnellboot with 2 ammo (2 torpedoes) this can be done with the default unit. Norway and Sealion for example.
When we want content to provide a schnellboot with 10 ammo (Torpedoes plus deck guns) this is very easily configured too. The Frozen North and Hunters in the Atlantic or Dunkirk now for example.

Thanks for the explanation. That was the first time I ran across that type unit since I haven't played the MP maps.

Let me ask it this way:

Is there a scenario besides Norway where Schnellboote have not been given extra ammo?
-> This is actually what inspired my "Schnellboote ammo" thread on the main forum.
