In the Tweaks.txt :
// how likely they are to idle (default is 128, larger number is less likely to idle, cannot be <1
BATTLEIDLEFREQ 15
Who is affected by this value? Units on the battleground or armies on the campaign map?
Thanks in advance.

It is a visual tag to say how often the idle animation is played in battle if they are stationary.

Thanks for the info.
Another question:
// ***********************************************************************
// ******************************** SIEGES *******************************
// ***********************************************************************
SEIGEARMYREDUCTION 2
What is affected by this value? Is it the amount of time to tear down the walls? I have changed it to 4, but the game still tell me that it need 33 turns to tear down a 500% wall

Hey Iain ive been doing some modding with Spartan but feel stuck i rly want to progress on to files other than Txt. files for example it would be nice to be able to change the names of nations or add/remove existing ones or even learn how to edit image files to maby impliment other cultures into citys, their structures and armies to maby create entirely different maps on entirely different continents ect.. the spartan system is great and far more satisfying and interesting than a great many more modern more "advanced" games it would be nice to be able to create your own game sequals from the files on the original game.
My main concern and desire is to be able to edit the names of the nations so i can start each game with fake preset alliances to help keep "favored" nations safe while i prepare my own nation to engage/assist them.
thanx for your time in reading this and for any aid offered.

You can definitely edit the names - there was a tool at some point which converted the text files from text to a lang.str which is what the game loads. Have a look through the various modding helper files to find something like that. Its been 10 years so I don't remember where everything is...

It should be in one of the mod packs we've released - its a proprietary format. Legion, CoW etc all use the same format so getting a tool from any of them will probably work from memory... but its been 10 years so I'm rusty!

This game is timeless. I've discover it lately and learn how to play it (begin with Legion)
