Off Topic - When you stash too much trash

My wife and I declared war on the house this weekend. I think it was somewhat inspired by her watching "Hoarders", but be that as it may.

So I tackled the closet under the stairs. (No Harry Potter, he wouldn't have lived) Either throwing out or donating four or so bags of shoes, coats, backpacks, etc.

Afterward, I tackled my collection of tech crap.

throwing away
4 ribbon cables
4 power cords (really, everything is already hooked up)
4 sticks of old ram, 2 were dodgy
4 old video cards
a power supply
masses of old cables
a cd rom read only drive
manuals for motherboards I threw away years ago
games from probably before Panzer General
manuals and games I didn't like that much after I bought them
boxes for things I wondered why I ever bought
3 vga - dvi adapters (ok, haven't thrown them away, have to figure out the best one first... even odds on they all stay.)

Still keeping
IL-2 and expansions and manuals
CIV IV manual and CDs
Dragon Age
a couple of other favs
Electrical tape (that is where it went!)
Dry wall spreader... I need to touch up, so one less expense

Still, throwing those things away gives me a bit of heartburn. Anyone else?

You should watch toy story 3. And you will see what happens with the "trash" you throw away.

It's not the throwing away that gives me heartburn, it is coming to grips with the fact I spent money on things I clearly spent too little time thinking about, that gives me the heart burn.

I have a number of ostensibly good wargames, that I bought as digital downloads, that ME personally, I simply did NOT really need that game.

I am too much the addict when it comes to some things.

I don't mind having a lot of stuff if it is at least getting used.
