I've read about over-strength units (over 10). How do you do that?

On the panel were you buy new units and reinforce your existing ones.

Once you're units get to a certain experience level you will have the oppurtunity to purchase "extra" reinforcements for that particular unit.

The Elite reinforcement button is the one you use to overstrength a unit

Specifically, to be given the opportunity to use this button the unit must have amassed 100 points of experience or more.

Every hundred XP translates to one full star. Each star allows one point of overstrength. So for a Tiger tank with Strength 15 you need to get it to 500 XP (the maximum; very hard to reach).

Because of how XP is awarded, a practical limit is at three stars. A simple piece of advice is not to plan to overstrength to more than Strength 12-13 (and then try to keep units at that strength).

It should also be said that plenty of players get good results without overstrengthing anything ever. In fact, it's debatable if it's ever worth the extra prestige. Feel free to experiment and find out for yourself! :)

Good points Molve. Playing Panzer General and PGForever I always overstrengthened units to the max. One issue with those games was uneven allocation of experience points dependent on unit type. Stukas accumulated experience at a very fast rate while artillery took forever to gain stars. It was not unusual in the 1939-1945 Campaign to attack Moscow 1941 with 12-13 strength Stukas while artillery had less than 100 points. PZCorps allocation is IMHO very consistent from unit type to type.

When PZCorps was released I strengthened units beyond 10 as soon as available. Automatically maxing units might not be such a good idea particularly in the more difficult missions. There are occasions when an extra point or two will help a unit survive in a difficult combat. Typically I almost never reinforce a unit beyond 10.
