Arras report (scenario 17)

Chosing the british path has not been disappointing sofar.
Arras: finally a tank battle!
I lost my first core unit, the recon unit which i replaced then with a second Pzjäger I. I could have lost much more.
Advancing along the whole map from east to west progressed rather fairly. Enemy tanks and infantry were dealt with rather swiftly but the real fun part began when i was getting close to the city of Arras. The mathilda II tanks attacked my spearhead! Rather devastating at first, luckily no units lost there, and i was glad to have 2 88's close behind. The following turns i unleashed their fury and those mathilda's took quite a blow. I finished them off with yes, once again, the irreplaceable stuka's! Around Armentières the enemy was counter-attacking also but the bocage hexes gave a fair defence. There the advance stopped and my units could dig in and hold out easily for whatever the enemy was throwing at them.
For the beta version there are 24 turns, and i did it in 9, yet another DV and left with 2108 prestige points. When i overlooked the battlefield there were still 9 enemy tanks and 7 infantry units west of Arras (waiting?). It was a good mission thou and asked careful planning and advancing with scouts leading the way. I encountered enough threats that could have endangered the soft units but good scouting (and risking them) is far better than any other unwanted surprises. Great job!
