Maubeuge report (scenario 16)

First of all a remark about the mission objectives.
Taking VH is loud and clear, no problem. But 3 aux units must survive? I had no aux units. So to be on the safe side, i left 3 enemy units alive.
Than a remark about the city hexes.
Some towns and cities in the north and northwest of the map have french flags. Those are belgian towns and cities! Belgium did not capitulate for another 10 days.
Before the mission there was a choice between a british and a french campaign path. Since british are more interesting opponents, i chose them.
There was also a prestige dump, which i gratefully embraced. Finally i could bring all my units back to an acceptable strength. I filled the new core slot with a second Sturmpz I.
The mission itself was not too easy, but not difficult either. I was actually wondering what those british tanks were doing in the forest on the west side of the map. They stood there...camping maybe? Anyway, passive or not, my stuka's knew what to do with them. While advancing to all objectives on a broad front, it was all about search and destroy.
There was never any pressure from the enemy on my spearheads and my airforce did a wonderful job. It is not the best mission i played sofar, but not the worst either.
Lille was mine on turn 13, giving me a DV and left me with 1610 prestige points.
