Any Interest in GS Tourny Once GSv2.1 is Released?

Please vote and if yes how would you like it to work. Here are my initial suggestions. If we had enough players (e.g., 8 or more) I'd like to see a double elimination with players seated based on opponents estimates of player skills. Also, games with be mirror games with both players taking each side. And the minimum expectation would be a minimum of 5 turns a week. Finally, while I like to see games played out to the finish normally I think we'd encourage players to concede once their situation was known in order to speed things up.

I vote yes! Even through I would be knocked out in one round most likely.... elemination with players seated based on opponent estimates of player skills would seem best to me btw.

Maybe have players rate themselves 1-3 or such? I agree it would be more enjoyable to be matched at least somewhat close to ability/skill/experience.

I agree. I was thinking of being the tournament director and not playing in it. As such, my proposal to rank the players is that I would post a list of the players. Then players, or even observers, could rank the players IN PRIVATE for which they've played against. They could then email me those ranking and I would compile a ranking based on composite scores. I would only make the ranks public and keep all scores private. I would propose a scoring of 1 (lowest) - 10 (highest).
Also, if we have enough interest we could have two flights (or ladders). A championship and a beginner's/novice flight.

Man, I must be getting old, but I don't see how to cast a vote.
So I vote here. Yes, I'd like to see a tournament and I would participate in one and I don't care who I play because if I'm fortunate to advance I'm going to have to play one of you "elite" guys evenutally and I say BRING IT ON!

If you don't see how to cast a vote that usually means that you've already cast one. Isn't forgetfulness one of the signs of old age.
