Im sick of the "non" information or news updates on the release date? Simply yes or no...this is ridiculous...I'm tired of designers hyping their products only to never actually release them...seen it too many times...I'm very disappointed in Slitherine for this. I understand they are not the developers of this one but they are partners

The game is still in beta testing.
Definitely it won't be released in 24th of September.
There will be at least one more beta version to test and a new bunch of beta testers will be invited.

Thanks for clearing it up VPaulus.
Team Assault is not released today and was never intended to. No current release date is set for the moment since we are in the middle of our beta testing.

Infidel does make a good point though.
In my opinion release dates should be a bit more nebulous. Such as simply “3rd quarter 2011”. That way you have a least a 3 month window to get it out but yet the potential buyers are informed on when to start to look for a more firm date.
It also gives you the freedom to back it up a quarter (or two) if need be. It doesn’t sound nearly as bad if something was supposed to be release in 3rd quarter and ended up only one quarter later as it does to say 24Sep but it ends up being 24Dec. Both are the same result, but one is just a bit better PR.
**My dates given are just examples. No one take them as actual release dates of this or any other game.**

That is absolutely true and something we had to learn the hard way

We generally try to avoid announcing a date unless we're fairly confuident. The down side is everyone starts pushing to know the date and nobody knows what we have coming up. We get as many peopel complinaing "why dont you tell us what is coming"
The product system also requires us to enter a date so we have estimate or we can't create product pages. This is because products have to be listed in date order so most recent releases are visible and upcoming releases shown first.
The downside is this meansit needs constant updating and we just have not had the resources to update the release times every week as we update our internal schedules.
Please treat release dates as estimates until you'bve seen them confirmed on the forums by the team.
We'd love to get these more accurate but game development is an art not a science and its almost impossible to know when a game will be ready.
