Equipment availability (different dates in game and editor?)

Case at hand:

I'm designing a scenario in which the Tiger tank will become available during the scenario. To find out exact availability dates I thought I could use the editor, but I am surprised and dismayed to say this is not the case.

Tigers become available (complete with pop-up info box) on 1 Sep 1942 - when playing the game. But already in July the Tiger becomes visible in the list of tanks in the editor (when checking the filter "show only units available in this scenario") setting!

Why is the editor filter using a different date than the game proper? And what is the difference (is it always say two months ahead, so I can use that to quickly find out the dates)?

the editor show all units that become available during the scenario, in case u want to define some reinforcements or use some units as early prototypes.

only ways to see real dates are with the unit editor or by viewing equipment.pzeqp with an editor or exel

Ah... what?

AAH!

So it's the scenario end date* that it filters on - okay, now at least it makes sense. I might not like it but at least I'm not going insane :) Thx

*) meaning scenario start + scenario duration. I know there isn't a "end date" setting. I checked if changing the "days per turn" setting changes what units appear, and indeed it does.

Now that I know the game needs to manage a real calendar, perhaps I should check if the game handles leap years (1940, 1944) too... :)
