Questions before I Order

I want to purchase Battle Academy and both of the add-on packages, but I have some questions about replayability before I do. I have looked at the random map modification done by Amaris, and I wonder if the new tile sets in the add-on packs can be used to create even more maps? I also wonder if it's possible to make a random map more interesting by randomizing starting points and opposing forces? This way, a skirmish could be set up in very short order if one had just a moderate amount of gaming time available on any given day.

Thanks very much!

The scripting system lets you set up anything you can think of if you have the time to spend on it. There are also many scenarios designed by players downloadable in game so there is a lot of free extra content as well as the game & its expansions. I think this will keep you going for some time! Also there is multiplayer which is very popular and easy to use.

I just played the demo (was waiting for one...good call releasing it after a later patch) and found it fun, going to d/l. One question from the demo 'update news' shows that the 1.6 patch is available. I thought I was playing the 1.6 demo. Is that just a general info thread telling people it's there?

1.6 is the current version of both the demo and the main game. As you say, it's just information for anyone who might need to upgrade.

Cheers

I've played every mission, several times and still enjoy the game immensely. The patches have gone a long way to make the computer opponent fight better. You can also challenge human opponents online. Great fun. You can design your own scenarios to share with everyone. The scripting for advanced features is a little bit involved but you can make basic scenarios pretty easily. I say go for it. You will not regret it.
