weird Poland fall in turn 1

posting pictures, can some one point me to 'how too' - I have just had a crazy turn 1 and took a screen shot as I didn't really believe it myself - should have taken more!

Poland fell on turn one but in very unusual circumstances.

My northern forces nearly took Warsaw with 1 ARM! - the TAC did 3 steps (I have never seen that before) and the FTR did 1, the ARM combat was a predicted 4 but only did 2.

Then the corps west of Lodz refused to die, you can see it up next to Posen when I can post the pic. My initial euphoria around Warsaw turned to dismay with this as I thought I wouldn’t be able to get passed Lodz to get a second ARM on Warsaw – but Lodz played nice and fell anyway.

Just a weird turn really.

With the GS v2.01.26 you won't be able to get 2 units on Warsaw on turn 1. We added code so if a unit moves into unspotted hexes and reveals new units then it can't also attack. It becomes surprised and will halt movement.

Before you could the armor furthest to the west to the unspotted hex north of Lodz and then attack from the rear with great odds. Now this isn't possible because the garrison north of Lodz will be revealed by the armor. If you reveal it prior to the movement then ZOC from Lodz and this unit will prevent the armor from reaching across the Warta.

The only way you can get 2 units on Warsaw is if you attack Lodz with 3 units across river and manage to kill the unit.

this was played with 'vanilla' 2.0

I had to take Lodz accross the river (as you describe) because of the ZOC from the "won't die" corps

hence my fear that I wouldn't get a second ARM to Warsaw, but then to my amazement Lodze fell from the attacks accross the river

just a really weird turn!
