Hey everyone! My name is Randy, I'm a 45yo American, and I love wargames. I'm a US Navy vet, was a sonar tech on destroyers, served 6 years from '86-'92.
I got my start wargaming in the mid 70s, when I visited my grandmother's house in Arlington, Va. for a month each summer when I was a kid, my uncles played Panzer Blitz and Panzer Leader all the time, and I was instantly fascinated. They showed me the ropes, and I sadly played it by myself when I got home, my brothers had no interest. Eventually I added the Arab-Israeli Wars to my collection.
Time passed, and I got Panzer General for the Playstation One. I played part way through some campaigns, but tired of the Playstation limitations. I've had low end computers, but just for internet browsing, not for games. I was a console gamer. So I missed out on all the good Panzer General based games.
A few months ago, a friend at work told me about World of Tanks. I told him I had an emachine, he said try it anyway. I did, and it ran, but around 5 fps. A friend upgraded my graphics card and processor, so now I am up to speed. WoT runs nicely now, my steed is the M10 Wolverine tank detroyer. My name on there is lostnite66 if anyone is interested.
I found out about Panzer Corps, and felt I had to support it, keep these games alive. I've played through all the tutorial levels, no problem. Then I played through the first two on the '39 campaign. I got decisive on both. I was looking over the deployment screen for The Low Countries, then turned it off and went to bed. When I got on there today, it took me back to turn 15 of the Norway Campaign. And the situation they gave me, it is impossible to win a Decisive victory again, I don't know what changed. Oh, I'll win, but not the decisive victory.
