Another from the ITC on a different table.

PPPP
__<LLLL
HHH

P = is friendly LF pointing up
<L = Enemy LH facing left
H = Friendly HChariots facing up

The LF is stuck and getting shot up. So the HCH declare a charge which requires an angle to force the enemy LH to evade. The orginial angle picked had the HCH moving 4 MU even if the LH evaded stillnot contacting their own friendly LF.

LH evade. HCH roll up 2 on vmd. Do the HCH want to go into the LF. What happens?
It was a voluntary charge so no burst through. Umpire ruled the HCH go and stop at edge of LF.

Could they have not wasted a MU or 2 wheeling more towards the LH, or the direction they had evaded? Seems like a good way to waste unwanted get lost you skirmishing buggers type move.

Chariots could have wheeled to the path of the evade and then dropped back a base to avoid friends if needed, right?

IMO the umpire was correct - at least that is how I have previously ruled suimilar situations.

You can (and must) burst through friends if you fail a CMT not to charge.

But a charge cannot interpenetrate friends see movement phase for moving through friends: "No interpenetrations are permitted when charging."

Not sure it's specifically written in the rules, but I presume this means that the friends might stop the charge once you touch them.

We tried. Not enough to matter.

Their angle was set and because the LH in between was actually kinked and evaded in such a way the chariots couldn't wheel to avoid the issue.

Which is what we concluded and the umpire ruled. Was an oddity.

Would you believe it! The exact moment caught on camera by an onlooker...

And it caught the next table where Phil sacrificed 2.5 BGs of LH to me.

(he lost three but then bolstered one back until I chased it off board)
