New map: Seelow Hights

Hello everyone,

i'm new to this forum and i want to present my new custom scenario:

Seelow Hights

"Marshall Schukow is attacking the Seelow Heights with his 1st Belorussian Front. His opponent Gotthard Heinrici, the leader of the Heeresgruppe Weichsel, defends the gates of Berlin."

I used a old map as the pad image to increase the historical authenticity. The map is pretty small but balanced. If you play as russians you will encounter a new german unit on the battlefield: the Volkssturm.
The map comes with a nice (and hopefully working) setup. Do not panic, the setup makes a backup of you equipment and efx files.
Do not forget to READ the README. Everything is explained in there.

If you are installing the setup and installed your PanzerCorps not in the standard directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Slitherine\Panzer Corps) - you have to select the folder manually in the setup. I think that was(is) your Problem

did what you said .. still did not work..however, the manual installation worked fine and i am playing the scenario..thanks for your help

Good job. But as usual, the AI spoils everything... 16 turns victory for the Soviet Union, 15 turns for the Wehrmacht (the difficulty Colonel).

Volkssturm showed himself well, and the picture is good.

I see these problems:

1. Small space for maneuver, especially in key positions on the edge of the map. And as in USSR as well and the Wehrmacht.

2. Too much prestige. If the Wehrmacht did not have very much, for the USSR, I was not able to spend it;)

3. I think you forgot to give units of the USSR - motor vehicles. Wehrmacht although also does not have transport, but it can still be understood.

By the way, I think that the defense of the Wehrmacht in too strong. When I played for the Germans, the Russian took only 1 is my city, and for a short time (and only because of my mistake). They could not break into the trenches. Also playing for the Wehrmacht, I lost pair units, only when storming the city, occupied by the USSR, where entrenched artillery and 3 "Katyusha".

I think you should either to weaken the forward units of the Wehrmacht, and / or move part of the Wehrmacht units to the west. It is desirable so as to be able to organize the 2nd line of defense.

By the way, the characteristics of a unit (strenght, experience, transport, title, etc.) can be changed in the editor by clicking on a unit Ctrl (or Shift? Alt?) and the LMB.

Update:

- fixed naming of some cities
- enlarged map
- lowered prestige for both sides
- added transport to nearly all Russian artillery units
- added polish troops
- added the cities “Jahnsfelde” and “Lietzen”
- +1 core slot for the Russian nation
- changed the position of some german units

Hi,

I playtested the 1st version.

I agree with the previous comments: too small map, no prestige for the Germans, I won easily.
You should on the contrary have a huge map (see PG2 map and scenario for a comparison).

But I respect the effort and the willingness to bring new stuff to this game.

Thanks for the Feedback. You should test v1.1 - its a little bit bigger.
I dont like these huge maps.

UPDATE

Changelog:
Version 1.02:

- made the scenario compatible with 1.05
- scenario supports german and english language (only via installer)
- weakened the first line of defense
- added units for the Germans for the 2nd and 3rd line of defense
- changed some Russian units
- some changes in terrain
