Rear support

Am I correct in thinking that currently( i.e version 6) rear support can be given by troops that are facing the opposite direction to those in front(even by broken troops) or at any other angle to those in front. If this is the case surely it needs to be amended because if those to the rear were just about to leg it to the flank or rear then surely those troops to the front would become a bit reluctant to advance or indeed hold there ground whilst there chums disappeared.

The troops giving rear support have to be steady (so not disrupted, fragmented or broken) non-skimishers of at least equal quality to those being supported. They also cannot be in close combat (in the latest iteration).

So far we have not specified the direction they must be facing, because there are grey areas of "not facing exactly the same way" that would not reasonably preclude a morale-boosting effect, and the complexity of defining what constitutes facing sufficently the wrong way to prevent rear support does not seem to us a sufficiently worthwhile addition to the game.

If they do indeed move away then they will no longer be in a position to give rear support.
