Red Dawn 2.00 (Feb 2012)

				Introduction
Red Dawn is a fictitious, hypothetical, ridiculously contrived look at a ‘what if’ situation at the end of World War Two in Europe. US General George S. Patton states in his memoir War As I Knew It that he believed the US 3rd Army should have been allowed to press on to take Prague before the Russians did in early May 1945 (p.309). This campaign is based on a wider application of that belief to Allied forces and a more belligerent opposing belief by the Russians.
In the opening scenarios, you will fight to finally defeat the Germans with the option to push harder and take Berlin, Prague or Vienna - the result of which will be an international incident and a Russian counter move. Even if these cities are not taken it will become apparent that Stalin is not content with eastern Europe and wants the whole of the continent.
Your task is to stop him and push back harder and stronger than the Russians to be able to threaten Moscow itself with your long-range bombers, including the famous Enola Gay and its deadly payload.
A corresponding assumption is that the Japanese surrendered after Hiroshima and that the Nagasaki atomic bomb, Fat Man, may be deployed against the Russians. In Red Dawn, nuclear weapons are not used and a US defeat or victory will not eventuate in their use, either. The deterrent value of the weapon is its main effect in the campaign.
Installation
Note that, due to some scenarios in this campaign having been designed using the pre-version 1.05 Editor, some scenarios are encrypted and require the player to have one or more of the Grand Campaign DLCs installed to play it.
1. Download and extract the Red Dawn campaign self-extracting file to your Panzer Corps user data folder in the “Mods” sub-folder. This is usually found under your “My Documents” folder.
2. Download and extract the Red Dawn data self-extracting file to your GME folder. This can be in a number of locations, but often is in your main Panzer Corps data folder.
3. Documentation download
• GME: the General Mod Enabler (GME) needs to be installed for Red Dawn. When installing the Red Dawn data in the GME it will ask a question about overriding the efx.pzdat – answer ‘Yes’. Order of application in the GME: Massi’s Land Pack; then Real Sound Mod; then Red Dawn campaign data.
• Sound: requires the Real Sound Mod Redux for sounds to function. Red Dawn uses a custom efx.pzdat file, which uses sounds from the RSM.
• Massi’s Land Pack: whilst the campaign will run, it will look strange without it! Download and install in the GME folder.
• Equipment and effects: a custom equipment.pzeqp and efx.pzdat file is used by Red Dawn. The additions and changes are listed in the Change Log in the documentation.
A future update of Red Dawn will incorporate more graphics and images specific to an Allied campaign.
The campaign was designed and tested on Colonel difficulty level.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it.
Cheers
