Question about game and updates

I'm thinking of getting this game and I've done some reading on the site. It seems like some of the updates require previous updates to be installed and others not to be.
In a new install how many updates and which ones would I need to get to the version GS2.0?
Does it matter where I purchase the game from (Slitherine or Matrix site) in order for the updates to work?

Opps it seems someone else has similiar questions. I'll check the other threads for answers. Sorry.

Hi The current released version is 2.0. The Dev team and beta testers are playing beta versions to correct bugs and balance issues
that are in v2.0. We plan to have v2.1 to Slitherine by mid to late September for release.

Matrix is now owned by Slitherine ... I would recommend the Slitherine version due to the fact that this site (i.e., the CEaW GS forum) is much more active than it's sister Matrix forum.

The version that you'd buy, which is the most up to date official one, is CEaW MH Edition version. The GSv2.00 is free for download once you own that version. It installs seamlessly over the MH version. A patch for GSv2.00 (which will probably be called GSv2.1) is currently in beta and once that is ready will be offered for free for download. When ready this will also install seamlessly over the MH edition or GSv2.00 (either one).

No need to apologize ... I think you'll find that we're pretty laid back here and I think we're really helpful too.

If you buy from Slitherine, is the transaction handled by Plimus? Also is the download file(s) one for the game and one for GS 2.0? Or does the install file contain both the game and GS 2.0?

Don't know ... I'll have to let Iain handle this question.

There are two installers. One for the MH version of the game and one for GSv2.0.
Here's are the two store pages for MH and GSv2.0.
http://www.slitherine.com/games/mh_ceaw_gold_pc
http://www.slitherine.com/ceaw_gs2
Again, GSv2.00 is free for download.

Both Slitherine and Matrix use Plimus for payment collection and download delivery.
We have remastered the installers so that they include both the CEAW 1.12 and GS2.0 expansion so all you should need is the download file. Note boxed editions were printed before we remastered and do no include the GS 2.0 expansion.

Is this true for the Matrix version also? Not that I have a problem buying from Slitherene!

The Matrix version has not been remastered yet. The GS expansion is a free download anyway so you would just have to download a second file to get it working with the Matrix version.

Is a purchase from Slitherine considered an International Puchase if you are living in the USA?

If you mean outside the game for modding purposes it's:
C:\program files\Slitherine\Military History...\Grand Strategy Mod\Data\Scenario\1939
0 20 875 150 0 1058 11 100 0 1 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 1 0 0 1 3 0
I think 20 is the starting PP for Germany.
If you mean inside the game, check out the manual. I forget...
Forgot to mention, they are all listed at the bottom of that very large file.

What i mean is (for example):
Poland- ??? points
Denmark - ??? points etc, etc.
Anyway thanks for replay

I'm not sure that's easy to get. It would be a sum of the on map (i.e., cities) + off map production.
