If I have a foot BG with regimental guns, can I place a commander in front of the regimental gun marker and measure distances from there? Or, would you assume the commander is really on top of where the RG marker is, adj. to the front pike base say, and measure distances from there?

The Regt gun marker indicates that there is a regt gun with the unit. It can be behind, in front or to the side. If you want to attach a commander to the unit just move the gun marker out of the way.

Agreed the reg't gun marker is not one that expands the foot print of the BG therefore being in touch with it is not in touch with BG.

He just went through a lot of work for those guns and likes them to be out front where they can be seen
