After terrain selection, I get the error:
"Error: Sorry, could not write to the file C:/Documents and Settings/Chris/Application Data/Slitherine/FieldofGlory/start.fogsg"
Any ideas? Is this my bug or yours?

This is typically an error in your rights on the computer. Is the user name you are using a system administrator in your windows settings?
Has FOG been working 100% AOK previously?
Can you confirm your windows version?
Can you confirm which version of FOG your PC is running, to the lower left of the screen on loading e.g. 1.5.6
Thanks

Im having the same error trying to start a multiplayer game with Charles Robinson.

Im on windowsXP.
Dind t have this problem before. Im running version 1.6.1.
Im playing other multiplayers games with no problems.
"Error: Sorry, could not write to the file C:/Documents and Settings/Fede/Datos de Programa/Slitherine/FieldofGlory/start.fogsg"
Is the user name you are using a system administrator in your windows settings? By this you mean username of the game?
tks
I restarted the game and it worked. Not sure if the same selection of maps were showing. Could it be a problem with that?
tks

I'm getting the same problem on XP with 1.6.1. Just posted a couple of challenges and in both cases won the initiative. First with Federn has started without difficulty, second with Pyotr, where its an IF game andI am fielding 800 pt Pyrrhic in Italy (compatible army) and he has chosen Macedonian Successors, I get the same message as above (with my name after Documents and Settings). Tried choosing each map in turn and same result. Logged out and restarted, same result.

As with the others, problem seems to have gone away
XP system, was AOK before this.
So add to the "non-urgent" bug list!
