cable problems

My ISP hates me.
The cable modem keeps dropping offline.
I've had a tech out here 3 times already, and have a 4th visit scheduled for tomorrow.
SO, if you don't see me posting here for a few days, you know why.
Wish me luck, the problem seems to be something really obscure ;/

Good luck!
Because I had and still have a similar problem, make sure that the problem is not the modem itself.
Or of course the usual suspects (virus, spyware etc).

Gods...
I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
The problem seems to be fixed. I've been online for 3 and a half hours with no disconnect.
It was a bad cable modem, apparently.
The first thing the first tech did, on the first trouble call, was replace the cable modem, but apparently it was bad from refurb.
Finally tonight, at after 6pm, the currect tech put in a third cable modem, and the problem went away.

Networks are the thing I hate almost as much as printers, lol... For some reason I just cant get along with them. I understand most of the theory (or atleast my exam results would lead you to believe so :-p) but I dunno its like printers just the fact the screw up all the time really winds me up, lol
