Is this acceptable or appropriate?

As it is said 'To each his own.'

My personal preference when historically wargaming were for armies that were historically compatable. Hence my question here, as I have no wish to unintentionally offend.

When issuing a challange, is it acceptable to stipulate the desired opponents?
Obviously it may well mean that it will take longer for, if any to accept the challenge, but as the saying goes.

Any guidance would be appraciated, regardless of whether it is positive or not.

Cheers.

I too prefer historical opponenets. When issuing a challenge, you can limit acceptors to one expansion such as Rise of Rome, but you may end up with Spaniards fighting Seleucids! Or, you can PM someone you wish to play and agree on armies. You could also pick an historical scenarion where the sides are set. Finally, you can join a tournament where limits are agreed on. Hope that helps.

I forgot the most obvious one: post your challenge in the opponents wanted thread.
