Genetlemen: casting aside the early and understandable bravado that the hard working and largely successful designers of this Magnum Opus demonstarted at the start of things saying ,ineffect,"why what could possibly be wrong with my baby that needs a patching"........after a dignified and prident period of time,I pose the question yet again.....when will the bloody patch be done?

Patch is in Beta, but almost everybody is on holiday at Slitherine and Matrix, so my best guess is in 2-3 weeks.

Any hints of what kind of changes it will include?

This patch will be focused on correcting bugs, right?

Its that I have been re-reading my old WWII book collection and there are still plenty of units and scenarios absent from the game.

As we might add and change a few things depending on Beta feedback, I leave it to Iain to make an official announcement when he is back from holiday.

In general:

- Reported bug fixes
- Some Balance fixes
- Some Graphic fixes
- Some performance improvements
- Some requested UI and Menu improvements
- Some requested Editor improvements

A full complete and final list will be posted once the patch feature list is 100% final and approved.

Cheers,

Tim

I do hope some of the changes tweak units. Specifically (and this may matter more in Allied Corps than Panzer Corps), I am surprised that British Infantry has equal firepower to U.S. Infantry; the U.S. semi-auto Garand was far superior to the Enfield in putting up a wall of lead. We're talking .30-06 on semi-auto. (The Enfield, even with that "mad minute" routine, still doesn't stack up to the Garand.)

And Soviet infantry seems underpowered overall; the Soviets were known for hanging on under extreme conditions, so their defense ought to at least be an 8, and their firepower was nothing to laugh at since they heavily utilized sub-machine guns for that close quarters advantage. (Not talking Conscripts, which can be left lame, but the Regular Infantry.)

So, please consider popping up the U.S. firepower a notch or two, and well as the Soviet firepower and defense, if you see this the same as I do.

Manny thanks for your response....and as with most things from Slitherine, I'm sure it will be a top-drawer bit of work

But if they release a patch very fast, they'll complain that it doesn't include everything they wanted, wanna bet?

No guys, take all the time you need, it's not like the game is so badly broken that we can't play it like Arma II without any patches. :)

Well, to at least be given information about what it includes would be enough.
I hope for A.I improvements.

The patch adds some editor features and fixes reported issues but does not look at the AI. There are a few requested additions as well. We'll get details soon. We're trying to finalise the system for localisation and then finishing the patch is the next job.

Additions as in new units?

No, some requested features. E.g. Windowed mode. Nothing too substantial. The focus was on fixing issues reported.

Ah! That will be quite good. The Steam overlay doesnt work with PzC.

Most diffidently agree with both of your points.

The game is more than expectable as is. Take your time and get the patch done right. By looking at the quality of the 1.0 version, I can’t imagine you guys would do it any other way.

Any news about patch?

Yes, I too would very much like to hear why this relatively minor patch/update is taking so long to release. Are there other things besides those listed above being added? Was it just that people have been on holidays? Any communication of plans would be helpful. Please. :)

I heard they were adding new features.

New features take time.

You know it takes a long time to balance a map too.

Definitely. For me, it's like waiting for a late train - the 10 minutes I wait seems a lot longer when there is no announcement as to why the train is late. Not saying 1.01 is 'late' (there hasn't been a release date to my knowledge) but it *feels* like it is. :)

The sound of silence is deafening at times.
