Buccaneers vs Cavalry

Ok Guys,
I'm going to try some tactics vs Cavalry in the wings.
Lets say I'm shoulder to shoulder with 2 BG's of Superior, Unprotected, Musket, Swordsmen, both with rear support from an Average, Unprotected, Musket Swordsmen, and both with Generals, one of which is a GC... I don't think I can get much of a better setup than that barring terrain - right?
Lets say the enemy is 2 BG's of Cavalry - I don't know the rules or the lists anywhere near well enough, so someone will have to add the cavalry - something akin to Medieval Knights I'm guessing...
Shooting should be reasonable. I think I hit on a 5-6 (I can't understand that - why are cavalry so hard to hit - they're bigger targets than infantry???), and would generally have more dice shooting than they would have bases. At worst I'll get one shot and long range and two shots at short range before they hit right?
Then the Cavalry hit either well formed or disrupted and with a reasonable chance of going in with a base or two missing.
So, with that scenario, what are the chances?
